Susan Ruptash is an architect with Quadrangle. As Managing Principal, she is responsible for the overall management for the firm, practice issues and leadership of the administrative teams. Susan is the firm’s resident expert and practice leader in universal and accessible design where she oversees a group of talented accessibility specialists taking on a range of consulting projects. In addition, she has served as the project architect for many of Quadrangle’s major institutional projects using her special interest in accessibility to help create positive independent living environments for seniors and persons with disabilities.
Susan believes in giving back to the profession and the community, and has contributed to a number of task forces, committees and boards throughout her career, including extensive contributions to internship issues and technical standards regarding accessible design. Susan writes and speaks as part of her advocacy to promote universal design.
Susan is also a Director of AccessAbility Advantage, a joint venture between Quadrangle Architects Limited and March of Dimes Canada. AccessAbility Advantage offers expert services to assist businesses in complying with standards being introduced by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
In 2014, Susan received the G. Randy Roberts Service Award from the Ontario Association of Architects for her service to the profession. In 2015, Susan proudly accepted the award recognizing Quadrangle as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed firms.
