EVENT: Two-day Webinars on Part 9 of the 2015 National Building Code of Canada
ENGLISH: Broadcast live on Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14 at 9:00 a.m. (PT) as two 5 hours sessions.

The RAIC Emerging Practitioners (RAIC EP) is pleased to offer a two-day Webinar on Part 9 of the 2015 National Building Code (NBC) in English for the 2018 year. This course is taught by experts from Vortex Fire Protection, Coolearth Architecture Inc., and Moses Structural Engineers. The session will provide a wealth of information condensed into two, 5-hour days, with question periods at the end of each session. The webinar is designed as an introduction to the NBC in order to support preparations for the ExAC. It is not designed to discuss varying interpretations of building design applications, as they may relate to the Code. Individuals will need to have both volumes of the 2015 NBC on hand.

Vortex Fire specializes in providing independent building code and fire engineering consultancy services to save lives, protect property and preserve the environment. Vortex Fire implements the latest technologies and provides innovative solutions to enhance sustainability and ease of construction. Samuel Bright Boadi will present the section on egress requirements and Sarah Curl will present the section on health requirements.

Coolearth Architecture Inc. brings sustainable architecture to life. German Vaisman is a building envelope specialist, with experience ranging from construction detailing and on-site supervision to building envelope analysis and research.

Moses Structural Engineers is an award-winning firm with a vision of lasting impact. David Moses’ company is a leader and long-time proponent of wood mid-rise construction in Ontario working as a peer reviewer of new midrise guidelines, sitting on CSA standards committees in the Forest Products and Solar sectors.

Feedback forms will be sent to each individual after the session. These are used to gain an understanding of how the speaker performed, to inquire about any areas that the attendees would have liked to spend more time on, and to find out if any additional items could be incorporated into the future growth of the webinar.

Upon completion of the webinar session and survey, each participant will be awarded a certificate for 10 structured continuing education credits.
