Introduction


The Foundation was established in 1964 to strengthen the Profession, and was recently made the responsibility of the College of Fellows of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Mission

The Foundation is committed to develop programs to ensure a vibrant place for Architecture in Canadian Society, the advancement of Excellence in Architecture, and to promote the development of programs to support the Architectural Profession throughout Canada.

Objectives

  1. To promote and increase the knowledge, skill and proficiency of the profession

  2. To provide grants in aid of research by Canadians or to undertake research in Canada in the field of Architecture and in allied arts and sciences.

  3. To provide scholarships, bursaries and fellowships to Canadian Architects and Canadian architectural students.

  4. To provide equipment and teaching aids for architectural education.

The RAIC Foundation Trustees oversee the administration of the RAIC Foundation Awards established by bequests from members of the Institute, in addition to its own RAIC Foundation Award.
