RAIC Foundation Awards

The Gerard Venne Bursary

$4,000 travelling scholarship

The Gerard Venne Bursary, established in 1998, is available to a student of a Canadian School of Architecture in the year prior to their final year of study, or an RAIC Syllabus student who has completed Level 8 of the Syllabus program.

The award was established in the memory of Gerard Venne of Québec who made a generous bequest to the RAIC to assist Canadian students of architecture. The award provides financial assistance to a student to travel abroad in order to enrich and advance their personal and professional experience and knowledge of architecture.

The project must lead to documentation, which would contribute to the development of a body of information in architecture (e.g. lecture, paper, a/v presentation, etc.). Further, the recipient is expected to make a presentation regarding this work at the subsequent Annual General Meeting of the Institute. The value of the award may vary.
