Introduction

One of the mandates of the RAIC is “the development, sharing and recognition of excellence”. The RAIC’s professional development program is but one way to develop architectural excellence.

Continuing Education Credits

The RAIC is committed to producing a quality professional development program and to ensuring, to the extent possible, that all courses receive credits from the provincial and territorial associations of architects and from the American Institute of Architects. Each course or continuing education activity has a list of credits which will be provided by the eleven licensing authorities in Canada. Although the RAIC is advocating for a harmonized or standardized system of continuing education across Canada, the credits allotted for each course is determined by each licensing authority. Each association has different requirements for the number of credits as well as the reporting and recording of credits. Attendance is taken at each session and these attendance reports are in turn sent to all the provincial and territorial associations in Canada.
