FTP Instructions:

Downloading & uploading files to/from Architecture Canada

For Windows XP users:

Ensure you are connected to the Internet.
From the Start menu, launch All Programs >> Accessories >> Windows Explorer
In the Address bar, enter ftp://raic.org
From the window menu, choose File > Login As…
User name: raic_pub
Password: G6R7i37wQz
Open the folder you wish to access [if applicable].
To download: Drag the files you want to a local folder on your computer.
To upload: Drag and drop the files you wish to upload to the window, or to a specific folder in the window.
To log out, close the window.

For Windows Vista and Windows 7 users:

Ensure you are connected to the Internet.
Open My Computer from your desktop.
In the Address bar, enter ftp://raic_pub@raic.org
User name: raic_pub
Password: G6R7i37wQz
Open the folder you wish to access [if applicable].
To download: Drag the files you want to a local folder on your computer.
To upload: Drag and drop the files you wish to upload to the window, or to a specific folder in the window.
To log out, close the window.

For Mac OS X users (Tiger / Leopard / Snow Leopard):

Ensure you are connected to the Internet.
From your Applications, launch Safari
In Safari’s Address bar, enter ftp://raic_pub:G6R7i37wQz@raic.org and hit Enter
Open the folder you wish to access [if applicable].
To download: Right click on the file you wish to download and select Download Linked File As…. Choose where you want to save the file on your computer and hit Save.
To upload: Files cannot currently be uploaded via FTP in Safari.
To log out, close Safari.

About uploading:

Files and folders must not contain spaces, symbols (/?!@#$%&*, etc.) or uppercase characters. Hyphens (-) and underscores (_) are accepted.
Keep file extensions (.xls for MS Excel, .jpg for images, etc.) so that file types can be recognized once downloaded.
