Hylozoic Ground by architect and sculptor Philip Beesley MRAIC, OAA has been selected through a national competition to represent Canada at the Venice Biennale in Architecture 2010.
“This is one of the most ambitious and internationally recognized projects ever to represent Canada at the Biennale. The scale of the project, the international media attention it is garnering, and the mounting invitations to exhibit around the world (during 2008-09: Copenhagen, Linz, London, Madrid, Sao Paolo, Oslo, Reims, Enschede, Brussels, Tenerife, Amsterdam, Mexico City, New York, and Los Angeles) provide not only an unparalleled opportunity to increase the visibility of Canadian architecture and ingenuity on the world stage, but also works perfectly with the RAIC’s mission to raise public awareness of Canadian architecture, celebrate its richness and diversity, and to support Canadian architectural excellence here and abroad.” — from a letter on behalf of Philip Beesly to the RAIC.
The RAIC is pleased to be a sponsor of this ambitious project. Please visit the website www.hylozoicground.com for more information, images and information on how you can sponsor or support this project.
