The Role of Provincial and Territorial
Associations of Architects

In Canada, the practice of architecture is regulated by the provinces and territories who delegate this responsibility to the associations of architects through legislation.

The provincial and territorial associations of architects are responsible for the conduct of architects within their jurisdictions. As such, they are responsible for any endorsed architectural competition. In certain instances the RAIC endorses architectural competitions if requested or delegated by a provincial association. The RAIC may also provide a list of professional advisors to coordinate the endorsement or approval process.
